R & L Spring Company is a manufacturer of custom wire retaining rings that are used in a variety of industries, especially automotive applications from steering components to the hydraulics. CNC coilers and four slides are used to form the rings in an array of materials, profiles, and performance. Retaining rings create a shoulder that retains an assembly when they are installed onto a groove on a shaft or in a housing or bore. Wire form rings provide a cost-effective alternative to threaded fasteners and other types of retention products because they eliminate the process of threading, tapping, drilling and other machining.
