ROOT-END OVENS

The Fornax root-end oven is a curing oven, built for the heat treatment of turbine blade root ends. The ovens are designed according to the diameter and design of the root end. Once the root of the wing has been pushed into the oven chamber, the chamber is sealed with a bellow that fills with air, thus shaping itself to the contour of the wing. Then, a strong circulation of heated air ensures the even heating of the root end of the blade up to 140 °C.
