Rockwell Automation's - PowerFlex 6000T Medium Voltage Variable Frequency Drive (VFD)

The latest firmware release for the PowerFlex® 6000T medium voltage variable frequency drive (VFD) now supports efficient permanent magnet (PM) motor applications. Manufacturers in industries such as oil and gas, HVAC, paper, water, metals, and forestry are increasingly pursuing new energy efficiency and sustainability goals with PM motor solutions. The PowerFlex VFD facilitates these efforts by supporting high-speed applications up to 120 Hz output frequency, with a voltage range of 2.3 to 11 kV and a current capacity of up to 680 A.

The PowerFlex 6000T VFD incorporates expanded predictive maintenance capabilities through its TotalFORCE® technology. This enables the drive to communicate real-time health data of components, thereby reducing downtime and providing predictive maintenance alerts for fans, transformers, airflow, as well as motor and machine bearings and lubrication. It also issues runtime alerts for critical components such as power cells.

Secondary precharge support is now integrated within the existing footprint, leading to reduced costs and saving valuable floor space. The drive offers a variety of configuration options, including ENETR for EtherNet/IP and 13TCOMMP1 for PROFIBUS, along with Encoder Cards, I/O Modules, and more. Additionally, this CIP Security-enabled drive is designed to protect against cyber threats.

The PowerFlex 6000T VFD is engineered for new and retrofit variable torque, constant torque, and high-speed motor applications and is now available for order. Click here to learn more about the advantages of medium voltage VFDs.
