HISTORY Kellve; 119 years of history

1890 - The company is founded under the name of Kjällströms Mechanical Workshop by Alfred Kjällström, a blacksmith in Kvänum, manufacturing items such as ploughs and harrows.

1924 - Sven Kjällström takes over the business when his father dies. Production increases with more products in the agricultural sector.

1939 - The company has 20 employees and a turnover of SEK 300,000.

1945 - In spite of the war, the company expands and grows. Production begins of scraping equipment for gravel pits and coal yards.

1957 - The first belt conveyors for gravel, coal and concrete are produced.

1966 - The company now has 130 employees and a turnover of SEK 10,000,000. Belt conveyors are the company’s most important product.

1985 - The company is divided into Kellve (agricultural machinery) and Kellve Conveyor (belt conveyors). Consilium buys Kellve Conveyor from Incentive.

1987 - The company is now called Consilium Bulk Kvänum AB, and functions in practice as a subsidiary of Consilium Bulk in Enköping.

1992 - Consilium Bulk Kvänum AB is sold to the material handling division of the English Babcock Group and the name is changed to BMH Kellve.

2005 - Kellve begins close cooperation, in the form of contract manufacturing of conveyor belts, with the world’s leading manufacturer of mobile crushing and screening works.

2006 - New factory premises are ready for use at the end of October.

Kellve Installation is formed, as a development of Kellve Bulkteknik’s ambition to be a complete supplier. With the new company, Kellve Bulkteknik will ensure a high level of technical expertise in plants and products during installation and assembly.

2007 - Kellve acquires ASM AB in Askersund.

2008 - A modern assembly hall of 3,000 m2 and a warehouse of 3,000 m2 are inaugurated at Kvänum.

2008 - A 2,400 m2 surface treatment plant with automated blasting and new paint plant comes into operation in Tråvad.

2008 - Gothenburg-based Provator AB acquires companies in the Kellve group. Kellve Bulkteknik changes its name to Kellve Sweden AB. Kellve Installation changes its name to Kellve Service AB. The business is focused more clearly on design, production and installation of belt conveyors and belt conveyors plants.
