System Logistics announces acquisition of Vertique to expand warehouse automation solutions

System Logistics, a Krones Group company, has made an asset acquisition of the Vertique business from Illinois Tool Works Inc. through its US subsidiary System Logistics Corporation.

This acquisition represents for System Logistics an important strategic milestone in reinforcing its presence in the US food & beverage markets, where Vertique with its warehouse automation solutions and products plays a role.

Vertique is located in Arden, North Carolina, and over the past 15 plus years, has grown to be one of the most important key players in the food & beverage market providing solutions for intra-logistics. Vertique has more than 60 employees based mostly at the Arden facility. Vertique will continue to offer its solutions in the US as a business unit of System Logistics Corporation. The ability to complement its offering with storage solutions provided by System Logistics enhances Vertique’s market potential.

The technology, the know-how and the human heritage that have been developed by Vertique over the years will be part of System Logistics with the aim to further broaden its offering in the case picking segment at high performance.

The headquarters and the production facility will remain in Arden, NC.

With this acquisition, System Logistics has underlined its ambition to continue its international growth as part of the Krones Group.
